The following Conditions of Sale govern all products supplied by Daniel Boddam.
Please read these terms carefully. By placing an order online or accepting a quotation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Conditions of Sale.
We may update these Conditions of Sale from time to time. The most recent version is always available at www.danielboddam.com.
In these Conditions of Sale, "we", "us" or "our" refers to Daniel Boddam, and "you" refers to the customer.
1.1 Daniel Boddam works with natural materials including timber, stone, brass, and cork. Natural variations in grain, tone, colour, veining, texture, and surface characteristics are inherent to these materials and make each piece unique. As living materials, they may naturally patina, age, or shift in colour over time. You acknowledge and accept these variations and characteristics as inherent qualities of natural materials.
1.2 Timber We use sustainably forested FSC sourced wood. Timber finishes may vary subtly from any sample provided. We offer two professional finishing options: Osmo Clear Matt Oil (Standard) and Water-Borne Polyurethane. Information on each is available in our Care Guide, or the studio is happy to assist in making the best choice for your requirements. You acknowledge that your choice of finish affects the durability, maintenance requirements, and aesthetic characteristics of your furniture.
Custom stain matching is available for most products for a fee of $500 and requires an additional 4 weeks. Sample chips will be provided for your approval before proceeding with production.
We use kiln-dried solid timber in our products. As a living material, timber may naturally expand, contract, or occasionally develop minor splits over time, particularly in environments with fluctuating humidity, direct sunlight, or air conditioning. These characteristics are a normal part of owning solid timber furniture and do not constitute a defect.
1.3 Stone Our travertine stone features natural pits and indentations as part of its authentic character and is supplied unfilled unless you specifically request a filled finish.
1.4 Brass Our Monument range features brass plating over a stainless-steel substrate. Our lighting features solid brass with decorative plated finishes, including Antiqued Brass, Bronze, and Black Nickel. Brass will naturally patina and age over time, developing a darkened finish. Brass products installed in coastal locations or areas exposed to sea air and saltwater spray are not covered under warranty.
1.5 Cork As a natural material, cork may exhibit variations in tone, texture, and grain pattern.
2.1 Fabric Variations and Samples All fabrics are subject to natural variations in colour, texture, and weave. Digital representations (including online images and electronic swatches) are provided as a guide only and may differ from the finished product due to screen settings and photography. We strongly recommend viewing physical samples before confirming your selection.
2.2 Fabric Meterage Calculations All quoted fabric meterage is calculated on the basis of: (a) no pattern matching or repeat alignment, and (b) non-directional fabric use. Additional fabric may be required for patterned, directional, or large-repeat fabrics—please discuss with us prior to ordering.
2.3 Fabric Procurement Options
Our Selected Fabrics: We offer a curated range of upholstery fabrics suitable for our furniture designs.
Client-Nominated Fabrics: Trade clients may nominate alternative fabrics from our approved suppliers. Please consult with us regarding compatibility and suitability before ordering, as not all fabrics are appropriate for every furniture design. A custom quote will be provided based on your selection.
Customer's Own Material (COM): You may supply your own fabric, subject to our approval for suitability and compatibility with the intended piece. COM pricing is available upon request.
Client-Supplied Fabric Disclaimer:Daniel Boddam cannot accept responsibility for the performance, durability, or appearance of client-supplied fabrics. Sufficient meterage must be supplied—we recommend consulting with us before purchasing to avoid shortages.
2.4 Fabric Warranties and Suitability: While we exercise care in material selection, the performance, durability, and suitability of upholstery fabrics are determined by the fabric manufacturer or supplier. Warranty coverage, care instructions, and performance ratings are provided by the fabric supplier and should be reviewed prior to selection.
Subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, Daniel Boddam is not responsible for fabric performance issues, including but not limited to pilling, fading, wear, or staining, as these are governed by the fabric supplier's warranty terms.
3.1 All pricing is exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Retail prices displayed on our website include GST.
3.2 Prices are ex-warehouse (Sydney or Brisbane) and exclude delivery or freight unless otherwise noted.
3.3 Installation is not included unless expressly stated on a quotation.
4.1 Orders must be received in writing (via email) or through our website and will not be processed without delivery details and the required deposit. An Order Acknowledgement will be issued by us confirming receipt. Any amendments must be notified in writing within 48 hours; otherwise, the order will proceed as confirmed.
4.2 Payment terms: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon placement. The balance, including any additional service, storage, delivery or installation fees, is payable prior to dispatch. Failure to make payment may delay delivery, and storage fees may apply at our discretion.
4.3 Payment can be made by cash, EFT or credit card.
4.4 Ownership of goods remains with Boddam Pty Ltd until full payment, including all additional charges, has been received.
4.5 All furniture is made to order and cannot be returned or exchanged due to change of mind. Cancellations or amendments must be received in writing within 48 hours of order confirmation and are subject to clause 13 of these Conditions of Sale.
5.1 Standard lead times are approximately 14–16 weeks for timber, stone and cork furniture, and 18–22 weeks for upholstered furniture, depending on order specifics and manufacturer availability.
5.2 Lead times are subject to the availability of materials, fabrics and supplier scheduling.
5.3 Final confirmation of lead time will depend on order quantity and product availability.
5.4 Daniel Boddam is not liable for delays caused by strikes, shipping, accidents, supplier shortages, or events beyond our reasonable control.

6.2 Subsequent or split deliveries will incur additional charges by the client, payable prior to delivery.
6.3 Delivery details should be provided upon order confirmation or as soon as possible thereafter. Changes to delivery details that may affect scheduling or freight costs should be communicated in writing as early as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, however additional costs or delays may apply.
6.4 Deliveries are made on Business Days (Monday–Friday) unless otherwise agreed.
6.5 Part deliveries may be invoiced proportionally.
6.6 Delivery assumes clear and reasonable access between 9am–5pm on a Business Day.
6.7 You must ensure reasonable assistance is available on site, including: (a) clear access and unrestricted lift facilities, if lifts are present (b) access to loading docks, and (c) an authorised representative present to sign for receipt.
6.8 Unless otherwise noted, delivery quotes are based on ground-floor delivery with clear access. If access is otherwise, please advise or the client may be responsible for additional charges.
6.9 Occasionally, delays may arise due to circumstances beyond our control, including
but not limited to manufacturing delays, supplier lead-time changes, freight disruption, customs inspection or port congestion. Where such delays result in goods being delivered at different times, and a split delivery is required by the client, clause 6.2 (split delivery charges) will apply.
7.1 Installation or placement services, as well as rubbish removal, are charged separately and are not included unless expressly stated on your Order Acknowledgement (i.e. White Glove Service).
7.2 All reasonable care will be taken to avoid damage during installation.
7.3 Delivery and installation are carried out by professional third-party carriers engaged by Daniel Boddam on your behalf. These carriers are responsible for the handling of goods, placement and removal of all packaging material. Daniel Boddam is not liable for damage or site conditions once goods are in the care of third-party carriers.
7.4 Delivery and installation services do not include electrical work. Excluded services include, but are not limited to, the connection, wiring, or installation of pendant lights, wall lights, or other electrical fixtures must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
8.1 If delivery is delayed at your request, we will hold goods free of charge for up to fourteen (14) days beyond the scheduled delivery date.
8.2 After this period, we are happy to organise additional ongoing storage support should you require it, at additional cost to the client. Costings will be provided depending on the goods and duration stored.
8.3 Delivery dates are estimates only and may be affected by manufacturing delays, freight disruptions, customs inspections, port congestion or other situations out of our control. Where such delays result in goods being delivered at different times, and a split delivery is required by the client, clause 6.2 (split delivery charges) will apply.
9.1 Risk passes to you when goods are available for collection, consigned for delivery, or upon the original scheduled delivery date (whichever occurs first).
9.2 You are responsible for any loss or damage after that time, including during delivery or delayed delivery, except as required by Australian Consumer Law.
9.3 Title to the goods transfers only when full payment has been received in cleared funds.
10.1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
10.2 Products are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 24 months from delivery. Product-specific warranty information is available on request.
10.3 This warranty excludes damage due to normal wear and tear, misuse, or use outside the product's intended purpose.
10.4 Natural materials may display variations in grain, tone, colour, veining, or texture over time. Such variations are not considered faults and are not covered by warranty.
10.5 Upholstery warranties exclude natural wear and tear, or damage from external factors such as pests.
10.6 To make a warranty claim, please contact Daniel Boddam with details of the issue, date of purchase, order number and product description as soon as practicable after discovery.
10.7 You must take reasonable steps to minimise any further loss or damage. Claims will be assessed within seven (7) days of receipt.

11.1 Limitation of Liability To the extent permitted by law, Daniel Boddam excludes liability for: (a) indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, goodwill, or opportunity; and (b) any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised repairs, alterations, or misuse of our products.
11.2 Australian Consumer Law Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees relating to acceptable quality, fitness for purpose, and correspondence with description.
11.3 Non-Consumer Goods Limitation For goods or services not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use (i.e. commercial purchases), and subject to clause 11.2, our liability is limited at our discretion to: (a) repairing or replacing the goods, or paying the reasonable cost of doing so; or (b) resupplying the services, or paying the reasonable cost of doing so.
11.4 Delivery and Installation Liability Where third-party carriers, couriers, or installers are engaged (including those arranged by Daniel Boddam on your behalf), those parties are responsible for any damage, loss, or injury occurring during transit, delivery, or installation. Liability rests with those third parties in accordance with their own insurance policies and terms of service. We recommend you inspect all goods upon delivery and note any damage on the delivery docket before signing.
11.5 Insurance Recommendation Our pricing reflects these liability limitations. You acknowledge that you are responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance coverage for your property and for any losses or damages excluded under these terms.
12.1 Goods should be inspected upon delivery, and delivery documentation signed accordingly.
12.2 Any damage in transit must be documented at the time of delivery and supported by photographs.
12.3 In the unfortunate event your furniture arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible at 9660 1144 or studio@danielboddam.com. We will work with you to assess the damage or fault and, where appropriate, rectify or replace the item within a reasonable timeframe.
13.1 Cancellations or amendments must be received in writing within 48 hours of order confirmation. After this time, the order will proceed as approved and you will be liable for the full order value, which both parties agree represents a genuine pre-estimate of loss to Daniel Boddam.
14.1 All furniture is made to order. As such, returns, exchanges, or refunds are not available; all sale items are final.
